The Walter and Eleanor Gillen Story is a true story about a couple with nine children born from 1947 to 1957. The story is a biographical and autobiographical memoir written by two of the couple’s children, together with their siblings, and takes the reader through four generations. The reader can relate to a lot of the book – the war, parents and siblings, grandparents, family reunions, and visits. They will also read about Midwestern lifestyles in America, the many challenges of raising a large family on a farm, and stories of heartbreak, strength and stability. The Book concludes with a view into the lives of the family’s heritage and immigration from Germany beginning in 1719.
